Overview of mobile app analytics

Both applications and mobile application analytics systems can be divided into several categories:
Applications that work with data from the application store.
Systems that receive data using the SDK (a software development kit (devkit) is a set of software development tools that allows the creation of applications).
Hybrid systems work with data from both the marketplace and from within applications.
Applications that work with Market Data include:
Appfigures
App Annie
Distimo
Applications that use the SDK:
Flurry
Localytics
Mixpanel
Kontagment
Adobe Marketing Cloud
Mixed analytics include:
Google Analytics
Devtodev

The difference between Market Data and SDK
Systems that work with Market Data receive the following data: downloads, estimates, reviews, profits.
Mobile application analytics will help if, for example, you realized where the most users download the application every day, but further deeper learning is needed- the SDK integration. Since it will help to get deeper information about the user and about his downloads (purchases), data about the device and the user's actions. Therefore, it is advisable to use hybrid systems that show summary data, which are taken from both Market Data and SDK, and ultimately reduce everything in one service.
The top three most used tools are:
Used platforms: Android, Blackberry, iOS, Windows Phone, HTML5.
After working with Localytics, the number of users is immediately displayed. In the free version there are such features as user detail by geographic location, provider, version of the application, new user, and time to access the application. The main limitation is a small number of functions for the free version.
Used platforms: Android, Blackberry, iOS, Windows Phone, Java ME.
Full toolkit, where it is possible to create up to 10 custom dashboards for each application. The main metrics are: the number of active users, how often they access the application, sorting, location, and statistics on the popularity of versions.
Google Analytics
Platforms used: Android, iOS.
The advantage is a set of powerful features- the number of new and active users, the average session duration, screen navigation, audience (gender, age, language, and region). Also to the pluses is fast update statistics. It is always tracked in real time. There is also an opportunity to track the sources of traffic. Nevertheless, there were also disadvantages:
It is inconvenient to view events;
There is no support for event parameters;
It is inconvenient to monitor the profit of the application.
In general, Google Analytics is a powerful mobile analytics tool that works with both Market Data and the SDK.
